How can we analyze the syntax of a language? We can use the information of a tree diagram in order to create phrase structure rules, which will set out the foundations to produce an infinite number of sentences with small set of rules. In other words, we will find the “one and only criterion” that will allow us to analyze de syntax of a sentence.
